Hulme & Whitelegg and Anthony & McGear win in EBED Education Simultaneous Pairs

Congratulations to all the participants in the EBED Education Simultaneous Pairs, which took place throughout March, and particularly to the leading pairs in each section.

Shelagh Hulme and Dilys Whitelegg were the top scorers in the bridge competition, scoring 78.24% at Middlewich Bridge Club. Juliet Clark and Hugh Beadle, who played at 3 Counties Bridge Club (Loxwood), were second with 74.56%, and Indra Hill and Joyce Day, who also played at Middlewich, were third with 73.90%.

The top scorers in the minibridge competition were Matthew Anthony and Josh McGear who played at Yarn Prep School. They scored 72.28%, with Lydia Goodman and Jaime Lewis, who played at Kings Hawford School, second on 69.19%.

239 pairs took part in the event, which gave many of the participating bridge students their first experience of a nationwide simultaneous event. The event will be held again in spring 2017. More information will be available online later in 2016.
