Junior Award Scheme Announced

We are pleased to announce the new Junior Award Scheme.

This important and exciting new initiative from English Bridge Education and Development is designed to stimulate enthusiasm for junior bridge among young players, parents and educators. The scheme breaks down the skills required to develop from raw rookie to serious contender into a set of steps and milestones, and the participants must satisfactorily demonstrate the different techniques to achieve each level and progress to the next.

More about the scheme can be read in English Bridge which is available to EBU members via the members area of the EBU website

The scheme will be trialled at the Junior Teach-In at the end of August, and more information and teaching materials will be available shortly after.

If you are interested in knowing more, or being contacted when the materials are available, then please contact to be added to the mailing list.

Join us for the Junior Teach-In

The Junior Teach-In is a great opportunity for youngsters to learn to play bridge, or for established junior players to develop their game further.

It will take place in Loughborough on 28th to 30th August, and all standards of players are welcome. There are introductory lessons for young children and also a 'learn in a weekend' programme for teenagers wanting to 'jump in at the deep end'. For those players with more experience there is a series of lessons to help hone their skills. And for all participants there will be a Junior Awards Scheme, with Certificates of Achievement awarded as they progress through the levels of attainment.

Above all it is a fun, social weekend, and is great value, with full board, en suite accommodation included in the entry fee. Accompanying adults are welcome too.

For more information please see the event webpage.
