The BBC learns about the joys of playing bridge

Presenters from BBC Hereford & Worcester radio have visited a Cafe Bridge event organised by Worcestershire CBA to find out more about bridge - its mental challenge, its great social aspects, and the numerous benefits to those who take part.

Some great interviews can be heard via the iPlayer (though only available for a week).

Junior Teach-In a Grand Success

EBED's annual youth bridge residential weekend, The Junior Teach-In, was attended by 49 children and 17 accompanying adults at Phasels Wood Scout Activity Centre, Kings Langley, Hertfordshire.

A hectic weekend of teaching, activities facilitated by the Phasels Wood team and of course a lot of bridge was seemingly enjoyed by everyone present, with particular highlights including the competitive games of Human Table Football and the new “Seeded” Teams Event, where pairs with good results from the first three bridge sessions were teamed up with pairs with less good results, to give everyone a chance to win.

The main competition, the Arnott-Davidson Trophy, was won by Oscar Selby and Henry Rose, recently arrived back from their adventures at the Youth World Team Championships in China.
